Wintershall Dea Makes Another Discovery in Egypt

Wintershall Dea has made another natural gas discovery with the NSG-3 well at its onshore Disouq concession located in the Nile Delta. The NSG-3 well targeted the Abu Madi reservoir and was drilled to a total depth of 3,070 meters and encountered a 22-meter reservoir. Olaf Reetz, General Manager of DISOUCO commented, “The added new reserves constitute another example of fruitful cooperation with our partner EGAS in our joint venture and will have a positive impact on the continuity of production in Disouq.”

Wintershall Dea is partnered with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) on the Disouq gas project through the DISOUCO joint venture. In January, the joint venture made a discovery with the ED-2X well at the nearby East Damanhour block.
