S. Korean Ambassador Discusses Restart of Bismayah Project with Iraqi Official

Options for restarting the stalled Bismayah housing project were discussed at a meeting between the National Investment Commission (NIC) and the South Korean Ambassador to Iraq, Lee Joonie, on Sunday.

According to the NIC, the meeting reviewed the current status of the project and examined options for settling outstanding financial dues, including payment in instalments, with a view to resuming construction. NIC Chairman Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri reaffirmed the commission's commitment to continuing its partnership with Korean company Hanwha and completing the necessary coordination to allow it to return to the project site.

The South Korean Ambassador expressed appreciation for the NIC's efforts to address the challenges facing the project and affirmed South Korea's commitment to continued cooperation.
