Canadian PM Meets with Saudi Energy, Industry Ministers


Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met in Jeddah on July 9 with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during his official visit to the Kingdom.

The two officials reviewed bilateral relations and discussed prospects for energy cooperation, joint investment opportunities, and other topics of common interest.

Also on July 9, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, met with Carney on the sidelines of his visit.

The two sides reviewed opportunities to enhance industrial and mining cooperation and expand investment partnerships, including ways to develop cooperation in advanced industries to achieve mutual interests.

The meeting also highlighted the significant investments of Canadian companies in mining exploration projects in the Kingdom, with both sides expressing their intent to expand the strategic partnership in the mining and minerals sector to support shared economic development goals.
