Iranian Oil Minister Meets Russian Energy Minister

Iran’s oil minister met with Russia’s energy minister ahead of the 19th Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between the two countries in Tehran.

Mohsen Paknejad and Sergei Tsivilyov met Tuesday at the Iranian Oil Ministry’s headquarters in Tehran, as preparations continued for the commission session.

The two sides emphasized expanding cooperation across multiple economic sectors, including oil and energy, transportation and trade, and underscored the importance of implementing agreements previously signed under the Iran-Russia joint commissions.

Tsivilyov arrived in Tehran late Monday, accompanied by a high-level delegation, to attend the commission meeting.

The 19th Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between Iran and Russia began Monday in Tehran. Over the previous two days, 16 specialized working groups held separate sessions to exchange views and prepare a draft of the final document for signing at the formal meeting.

The formal session is scheduled for Wednesday, with Paknejad and Tsivilyov attending as the Iranian and Russian co-chairs of the commission. - Shana
