Gas Separation Project in Iraq Nears Completion

The Ministry of Oil has held a pre-startup ceremony for the expansion of the Zubair-Mashrif Gas Separation Station. Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad described the project as a key milestone in Iraq's efforts to boost gas production capacity, noting that it will significantly increase the capture of associated gas and supply additional clean fuel to power generation plants. This, he said, will improve energy stability and strengthen the country's gas infrastructure.

He praised the dedication of engineering, technical, and administrative teams from Basra Oil Company (BOC) and Missan Oil Company (MOC), as well as the collaboration with international partners including ENI, KOGAS, and other contractors, who worked to deliver the project on schedule despite challenges. The event was attended by the Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, Eng. Bassem Mohammed Khudair, Basra Oil Company's Director General, Mr. Bassem Abdul Kareem, and representatives of the executing companies.
