Iranian President Pezeshkian Heads to China to Attend SCO Summit

President Masoud Pezeshkian has traveled to China to participate in the 25th Heads of State Council meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Heading a high-ranking delegation, the president left the capital, Tehran, on Sunday morning to attend the two-day summit that will kick off in the city of Tianjin later in the day.

Pezeshkian was seen off by his first Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref and a number of other officials as he headed to China.

The president is scheduled to hold separate meetings with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping as well as officials of other participating countries.

Iran is an official member of the SCO. - IRNA
