Halliburton celebrated 25 years of providing hydraulic fracking to Egypt’s petroleum sector. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi attended the event, underscoring the importance of modern technologies in allowing greater production efficiency, particularly in existing oil and gas fields. He noted that every additional barrel of crude oil and every cubic foot of natural gas contributes to Egypt’s economic resilience and energy security.In his speech, Badawi said, “We are proud to join Halliburton, a global leader in oilfield services and technology, in celebrating 25 years of hydraulic fracturing operations in Egypt—a milestone that reflects our shared commitment to advancing energy production through innovation and strategic partnership”.Within the celebration, Halliburton announced the upcoming introduction of AI-powered smart fracturing technology in Egypt through its Zeus iQ platform—a major step forward in automating and optimizing hydraulic fracturing operations. This initiative aligns closely with the Ministry’s digital transformation strategy and vision for a more efficient, data-driven energy sector.Badawi emphasized the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ (MoPMR) full support for integrating advanced technologies like AI and digitalization to boost operational performance and drive sustainable growth in the sector.Senior Vice President of Halliburton MENA, Rami Yassine, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the Egyptian market and praised the collaborative spirit that defined the long-standing partnership.
