Solutions to Prevent Fuel Smuggling to Be Announced Soon: Iran Oil Minister

Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced that solutions for preventing fuel smuggling and addressing the issue across various consumption sectors will be unveiled in the near future.

Paknejad stated that preventing fuel smuggling and resolving the problem have become a public demand, including from high-ranking officials such as the president, the head and members of the Parliament, and the general public.

He emphasized that measures to combat fuel smuggling and tackle the issue are in the works, with preparations already underway. However, he noted that the implementation of these solutions depends on the modernization and smartening of fuel delivery mechanisms.

Paknejad added that these solutions, which could be announced within less than two months, are expected to have a significant impact on addressing the problem across various sectors.

Earlier, the oil minister had told SHANA that clarifying the status of fuel smuggling in the country is a public demand. He stressed that the Oil Ministry is obligated to assist other responsible agencies in pursuing and combating smuggling. - Shana
