Algerian President of Commends Potential of Young Innovators

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune commended Thursday in Algiers the potential of Algerian youth, particularly the holders of innovative projects and owners of startups on which Algeria banks to occupy a pioneering position in Africa in this field, affirming that young people are the locomotive of the country's socio-economic development.

Chairing a meeting with businessmen at the International Conference Center (CIC) “Abdelatif Rahal”, President Tebboune welcomed the achievements made by Algerian startups and their spirit of creativity and innovation, highlighting the achievements made by an Algerian startup that manufactures and exports satellite components.

For the President of the Republic, the knowledge economy sector reflects the image of an "innovative, wealth-creating Algeria that commands greater respect." Emphasizing that young people's innovative entrepreneurial initiatives are reassuring for Algeria's future, President Tebboune called on the relevant authorities, businessmen and the Algerian Economic Revival Council (CREA) to support young entrepreneurs.

Recalling that the micro-business sector has always been of social importance to the State in Algeria, President Tebboune pledged that this sector was now the driving force of the country's socio-economic development. President Tebboune also pointed out that the multitude of measures taken in this area over the past three years to improve the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem had enabled Algeria to improve its continental ranking in terms of start-ups.

With this improvement, which reflects the country's economic progress, President Tebboune underlined Algeria's ambition to become one of the international leaders in the field of start-ups, in view of their role as wealth creators and catalysts for the national economy. At the same time, President Tebboune welcomed CREA's initiative in organizing the Entrepreneurship Days as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, with the aim of building bridges between young entrepreneurs, investors and major corporations.
