Algerian Energy Minister Meets Tanzanian FM

The two parties discussed "cooperation and investment opportunities in the field of hydrocarbons, such as the supply of hydrocarbons (crude oil) and petroleum products to Tanzania, and the management of the hydrocarbons sector in Tanzania," the source said.

The meeting also focused on "strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of engineering, electricity production, development of electricity network and training in these areas, in accordance with the clauses of the agreements signed in August 2023 between Sonatrach and Sonelgaz, on the one hand, and the Tanzanian hydrocarbons and electricity companies, on the other", added the same source.

On this occasion, Arkab reaffirmed "Algeria's willingness to strengthen its relations with Tanzania and to increase trade with other African countries, particularly as part of the development strategy of the Sonatrach and Sonelgaz groups, which are seeking to enter African markets." In this regard, the Minister expressed "Algeria's readiness to support and accompany Tanzania thanks to its experience in these fields."
