Natural gas consumption in Iran hit a new high on Tuesday as freezing temperatures swept across the country.According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), gas consumption by household and commercial sectors reached 530 million cubic meters (Mcm) per day, up by 6% from the previous day. The statement said household and commercial sectors consume 64% of the total gas supplied to the nationwide grid.The rise in consumption came as temperatures dropped by an average of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius across the country, said the NIGC.Temperatures in the capital Tehran dropped to zero on Monday. - Iran Daily
