Iran Localizes Sophisticated Drilling Tools

An Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully designed and localized Free Point tools for oil and gas well drilling.

According to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), with the support of Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr, NIOC's Managing Director, and the follow-up of support for construction and procurement department of NIOC, Nasim Hamrah Knowledge-Based Company has designed and developed Free Point tools that are used for drilling oil and gas wells.

The items have been tested in the fields operated by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) by the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC)

This tool is used to detect and determine the depth of stuck drilling pipes in oil and gas wells, and the accuracy and quality of its operation is very important to decide on how to advance drilling operations.

Due to its high technology, complexity and strict production standards, this equipment is monopolized by several American and European companies, and a German company is known as the flagship of this tool in the world; however, this tool has already been built in Iran using domestic capabilities, and the country is the first producer of the item in the Middle East. - Shana
