Iranian FM Calls for Promotion of Tehran-Muscat Trade Ties


Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman Sheikh Khalifa al-Harithi in Tehran on Saturday called for the promotion of trade level between the two countries. During the meeting, the Iranian FM pointed to the expansion of relations with neighbors as a priority for his ministry and said Oman has a special place among Iran’s neighbors, IRNA reported. Amir-Abdollahian also stressed the need for bilateral efforts to boost the level of friendly relations between the two countries. He said that Tehran is committed to dialogue and the adoption of political solutions to bilateral and regional problems, noting that Iran is ready to negotiate with countries in the region to improve bilateral relations. Amir-Abdollahian expressed hope that the efforts of all countries in the region, especially Iran and Oman, would pave the way for an end to the Yemeni crisis. The Omani who is in Tehran to attend a meeting of the Joint Committee on Strategic Consultations of Iran and Oman, expressed hope that the Yemeni crisis would end as soon as possible, adding that his country welcomes and supports peaceful ways and negotiations to reduce regional problems. - Iran Daily
