Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development announced that in the past 8 years, the number of commercial planes surged. According to the ministry, in the first 9 months of 1399 (March 2020-21), the country's commercial air fleet had 323 aircraft and 158 active planes transported passengers. The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran reports shows that in 1392 (March 2013-14), there were 254 planes in Iran's commercial air fleet out of which 147 planes were active. In 1395 (March 2016-17) and before US removal from JCPOA and re-imposition of sanctions on Iran aviation industry, 170 planes out of 287 planes in the country were active. - IRNA
