Iran Unveils Domestically-Built Oil Equipment

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has unveiled two domestically-manufactured items which are widely used in drilling operations of oil and gas wells.

According to NIDC, Mehran Mofrashi, director of drilling project of the Kish Gas Field, told the unveiling ceremony of the equipment that cooperation between the experts of the National Iranian Drilling Company and a local knowledge-based company could build the items domestically.

Casing scrapper brush and string magnet are the two items that are designed and manufactured domestically, he said. The official stated that the equipment is used for field tests after technical inspections, adding the costs of importing the items was 60% to 70% higher than their domestic models. - Shana
