Chinese Co. to Construct Cement Plant in Iraq


Staff of the Chinese firm CNBM has started the work to construct the first investment cement plant in al-Muthana province, according to a local investment source. “The Chinese firm will construct the plant for an Iraqi investor,” the source said. He added that the total cost of the project is US$270 million. “The plant’s production capacity is 3,200 tons per year,” the source said. He noted that around 500 Chinese technicians and staff members will work on erecting the facility in the al-Mamlaha area of the al-Muthana province, around 20 km southwest of the al-Samawa city.- Aswat Al Iraq
