Algeria to Assign More Duties for National Audit Office

The Cabinet has approved an order on the expansion and reinforcement of the National Audit Office's missions during a meeting on 25 August 2010 chaired by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika. The new document, which amends and complements the order n°95-20 of 17 July 1995, provides for the expansion of the missions of the National Audit Office, the reinforcement of the prevention and the fight against the various forms of frauds, illegal and illicit practices affecting public property and money. The National Audit Office is henceforth entitled to make recommendations aiming at strengthening the mechanisms for public money protection and combating frauds and prejudices to Public Treasury or to the interests of public bodies under its control. - APS
