Trade volume between Algeria and South Korea hit from US$500 million in 2005 to nearly US$2 billion at the end of 2009 as South Korea is trying to invest more in the Algerian market since the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between the two countries in March 2006. South Korea's Ambassador to Algeria revealed in his visit to Annaba, on projects for the completion of three technology parks in each of Annaba, Constantine and Oran, in addition to a new fertilizer factory draft for fertilizers factory in Arzew (Oran State), which is in progress, as well as a petrochemical plant in Skikda.
In a press conference at the headquarters of the state, South Korean Ambassador stressed on the presence of a dynamic cooperation between the two countries, after 20 years of linking diplomatic relations between Algeria and Korea, where Korean companies occupy important places in the Algerian market, such as Hyundai, Kia Motors and Samsung.- El Khabar
