Thai Trade Ties Hailed in Bahrain

The Bahraini Industry and Commerce Minister,  Hassan Fakhro, met Thai Trade Commissioner Kiat Sitteeamorn and his delegation. He praised the depth of economic relations, highlighting the steps taken to strengthen and develop them to a high level.

Both sides confirmed the importance of trade in food, particularly Thai rice, and agreements in the banking and construction sectors. Fakhro stressed that the ministry, with its awareness about the food consumption sector, continues to promote Thai rice, which is the best alternative given its high quality and low price.

Bahrain-Thai Business Council president Jawad Al Hawaj said that several projects have been launched with the Thai private sector. Sitteeamorn affirmed his country's readiness to provide expertise needed by the kingdom at all levels, stressing benefits from the Free Trade Agreement between Bahrain and the US for the kingdom to be the starting point for export of Thai products to the US.

The economic benefits enjoyed by Bahrain, its projects and facilities offered to investors were highlighted in a presentation. The delegation presented a documentary on potential construction projects, especially engineering services.- Gulf Daily
