UAE to Commission 1st Nuclear Plant in 2017

UAE, which has launched an ambitious nuclear power programme, will commission its first nuclear power plant in 2017, the country's Oil Minister,  Mohammed Al-Hamli, said. 'The objective is for nuclear energy to eventually account for 25% of the UAE's power requirements,' he told an industry event. In December the UAE awarded a South Korean group a deal to build and operate four nuclear reactors in the emirate. - Reuters
