A report issued by the economic committee in the Yemeni government has announced that up until December 2009, the number of wells drilled in Yemen was 2095 wells, 474 of which were exploration wells, and 1585 were developmental and production wells.
The report included an advisory against the flaring of natural gas and attempt to utilize it, as well as an advisory in favor of the construction of pipelines for the transport of crude instead of the use of land carriers.
The report also indicates the intentions of the Yemeni government to nearly double the areas marked for exploration after seismic testing. - Al Thawra
