Bahrain to Host GEO 2010

Bahrain will host the ninth Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition (GEO 2010).

It will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center from 8 to 11 March 2010.

The conference, themed "Innovative Geoscience Solutions - Meeting Hydrocarbon Demand in Changing Times", is expected to attract more than 2,000 experts and researchers.

More than 150 world companies are expected to take part in the accompanying exhibition.

Oil and Gas Affairs Minister and National Oil and Gas Authority (Noga) chairman Abdulhussain Mirza was updated on 26 February 2010 on the latest preparations for the opening ceremony of the conference, to be held on 7 March 2010, and that of the exhibition, to be held the next day.

Mirza praised HRH the Premier's support for GEO 2010 and praised the high profile companies' keenness to participate in the event. - Gulf Daily
