Bahrain to Launch 1st Renewable Energy Plant

Bahrain Minister of Public Works Fahmy Al Jawdar has announced that his ministry has officially appointed a consultancy firm to provide a study for the construction of the first Electricity plant fully powered by wind or solar energy sources, seeing as how the Kingdom has a suitable climate for both applications.

He expressed that the project's ground breaking would be 13 months from now with a capacity of 3-5 Megawatts saying that the ministry has requested suggestions from the consultancy firm overseeing the project development. - Al Watan
