Libya Plans to Invest US$8 Billion in UK
Libya plans to invest US$8 billion in the United Kingdom, an official from the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) said, six months after Britain released Lockerbie bomber Abdel Basset Ali Al Megrahi. “We have plans to invest US$8 billion in Britain,” Rajab Layas told Prime Minister Gordon Brown during a conference in London. The LIA didn’t respond to an e-mail requesting more information. – Al Shames
