A high-level German trade delegation led by former chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is set to visit Bahrain. "A key investment forum bringing together leading Bahrain and German businessmen will be held on the sidelines," Industry and Commerce Minister, Hassan Fakhro announced. He was speaking as he chaired a fourth meeting to follow up results of His Majesty King Hamad's landmark visit to Germany. German Ambassador, Hubert Lang and several German investors attended. The delegation will also visit major institutions and hold talks with senior officials. Hubert hailed the visit of His Majesty to Germany, stressing his country's readiness to provide all facilities for Bahrain's private sector and gain industrial expertise in all sectors.He reiterated a firm resolve to continue promoting bilateral trade co-operation. He also presented an update on plans to construct a German school in Bahrain. He also shed light on the specialised German orthopaedic clinic, recently opened at the Joslin Diabetes Centre on a temporary basis. A full-fledged specialised hospital is expected to be constructed within two to three years. Leading German and Bahrain orthopaedics consultants will be co-opted in the medical project. Maskati Company deputy chairman Khalid Al Maskati revealed plans to set up LSG Khaleej, a company specialised in providing catering and logistics services at Bahrain International Airport. - Gulf Daily
