Qatar Economy to Grow 17% in 2010
Qatar’s central bank Governor Abdullah Bin Saud Al Thani expects economic growth of 17% in 2010 in the country, he said in Doha.
The inflation in Qatar is expected to be in the “single digit” in 2010, he said. In January 2010 global bank Credit Suisse said that Qatar’s economy is expected to grow by more than 14% in 2010 on the back of gas exports and government spending.
“Qatar’s real gross domestic product – GDP – (is expected) to grow by 14.2% in 2010 (following its estimated 7.3% growth in 2009), which is higher than both emerging and developed markets,” it said.
The country's economy grew 11% in 2009, mainly due its natural gas sector, Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah bin Hamad al Attiyah was quoted as saying in January 2010. - Arabian Business
