929 Fuel Stations Under Construction in Iran


The Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), Farid Ameri, said that 575 new gasoline and diesel stations are under construction adding that government’s share in oil derivatives’ distribution has been reduced to some 7%.

“There are a total of 2,700 gasoline and diesel stations throughout the country currently… the number is predicted to reach 3,000 by March 2010,” Ameri added.

Commenting on CNG stations the NIORDC MD noted that 434 dual-purpose CNG stations have been inaugurated and 354 new dual-purpose CNG will be constructed. According to Ameri a total of 929 fuel stations (CNG, diesel and gasoline) are currently under construction in the country. – Jahan-e Sanat
