Brazil, Ecuador Ready to Host Ahmadinejad
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and Ecuador announced on 24 August that their invitations of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for a visit to their countries are still effective and they are waiting for the visit to take place as soon a possible. The AP analyst believes the stands adopted by Brazil and Ecuador in this respect are despite the Zionist circles’ hue and cry over the introduction of Ahmad Vahidi as proposed defense minister to the Parliament, that was also echoed by Argentina. Presenting no proof over their claim, the Zionists try, as they have in the past, to introduce Iran as the responsible country behind the 1994 Amia Jewish Center bomb blast and Vahidi as one of the people who ordered the blast, but the Judiciary Force of Argentina has still presented no proof for that claim. That is while the only accusation brought up against Iran was one by Judge Jose Gallao, who was later fired due for receiving bribes from Israel to testify against Iran. The Brazilian and Ecuadorian foreign ministers emphasized at a press conference in Brasilia that Vahidi’s appointment would have no effect over their foreign policies with Iran. The Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim added, “Our invitation of President Ahmadinejad is as effective as before and we are now seeking a date that would be agreed upon by both governments.” Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Fander Falconi Benitez, too, said, “We have a spectrum of cooperation documents with Iran in the fields of technology transfer, health, and many other fields and from the Ecuadorian Government’s point of the view, Iran has not been found guilty of having committed any crime and therefore, no limitation can be imposed against Iran.” President Ahmadinejad was scheduled to visit the Latin American countries in early spring, but due to the upcoming presidential elections in Iran, he postponed that visit. - Iran News
