Egypt Develops Qena Power Network


Egypt invested EGP 600 million (US$37.637 million) to enhance the efficiency of the electricity network in Qena, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker announced on June 1st. Qena has 932,000 subscribers to the power network.

Shaker meanwhile noted that 170,400 e-payment transactions in total have been executed in March and April at a value of EGP 14.56 million (~US$913,000). In May, the minister said that the government invested EGP 7 million (~US$439,000) to develop the electricity network in South Sinai power.
