The Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) signed a contract with Aran Energy Systems Company for commercializing and selling micro combined heat and power (micro-CHP) products as well as generator engines based on OHVG gas-based engine technology. The document was signed in a ceremony held in the presence of Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh, between Jafar Tofighi, the head of RIPI, and Alireza Nouri, the Managing Director of Aran Energy Systems Company, in Tehran on Saturday.The parties suggested that a number of the devices are employed in the public sector for a period of 6 months in order to monitor them and solve possible problems and subsequently reduce the final price with mass production.Jaber Neshati, dean of the Energy and Environment Faculty of RIPI, said: "According to the contract, 85 micro-CHP devices will be produced in the first year of contract implementation, and the figure will increase in the coming years." - Shana
