Iraq has reportedly signed a deal with the GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) to import electricity at a rate of 500 megawatts of electricity from GCC countries before next summer, Iraqi Ministry of Electricity spokesperson a told state newspaper.According to Rudaw, the GCCIA will fund the cost of building the two 400-KV lines, which will run for 300 kilometers across Iraq and Kuwait.
