Meet ICT & Bitex, two of the leading annual events for the information and communications technology sector in Bahrain, has been postponed to the June 16-18 slot amid Covid-19 pandemic. It was scheduled to be held from March 24 to 26.On its 10th year, the event keeps on proving itself as the leading ICT event in Bahrain, this year, the event focuses on "Leading the Way to A Digital Economy through Artificial Intelligence" in line with the vision of Bahrain and the region's technology advancement, said the organisers BTech and Worksmart. The duo said it has been working closely with the event partners and stakeholders to ensure the best possible delivery of Meet ICT Conference & Butex Exhibition this 2020.Putting health and safety as the top priority, the organizers fully recognize that many key participants significant to the event’s success are unable to attend the event due to various circumstances that the Coronavirus outbreak has caused. The decision comes after much deliberation and consultation with the stakeholders, who have strongly endorsed their prioritization of the collective interests of both the local and international participants, the organisers added.BTech Chairman Ubaydli said: “Being both the driver of ICT excellence and event organizer, the health and well-being of the IT community is on top of our priority hence we believe that postponing the event is the right thing to do at these very challenging times.” “We look forward to still working closely together with all our sponsors, partners and important stakeholders to be able to achieve a better experience for everyone participating without compromising the value and the quality of the event hence we sincerely hope this will not affect your presence being one of our event partners," stated Ubaydli.Worksmart Group CEO Ahmed AlHujairy said: "We appreciate your support and understanding and look forward to welcoming you to Meet ICT & Bitex this June 2020.
